the following fields in the MT530, under Sequence C – Additional Information, are no longer required to be populated:

  • :35B: Identification of the Financial Instrument
  • :36B: Quantity of Financial Instrument

These fields will become optional for any instruction modification performed via MT530 (for example, change of optional filter, change of partial settlement flag, etc.). For any partial release request, the quantity will still be mandatory as it defines the quantity being released, but the ISIN will no longer be mandatory.

The Xact via Swift User Guide will be updated accordingly.

Clearstream Banking reminds clients, as mentioned in Announcement C22012, that a unique reference must be used when sending their instructions to Clearstream Banking.

Note: If clients do not use the unique reference, it is recommended to keep populating these two fields to ensure straight-through processing.
